Ok, last Personal Thursday... next week, I will be back on Friday... how sweet is this pic of 2 of my boys - so handsome.  This is at the 2011 bridal show, so maybe some of you saw it?  Daniel totally surprised me by showing up with Wallace - both of them all decked out so nice in their suits and they helped me in the booth that day... yes, I have the best husband in the world... :)

Personal Thursday

Thats right, Im doing it to you again.... personal Thursday... as I will be out of the office tomorrow.  So I thought Id put up a good one for you today - a pregnancy photo... this is when I was pregnant with Emma - I think I had 3-4 weeks left - and let me give you a good tip - dont buy shiny shirts - they make you look humongous!  At this time, we were taking a picture every week to document my pregnancy and all the pics after this, I looked smaller than this one pic in the shiny shirt... crazy.  I love how you can see Gabe in the back too... :)

Sweet memories.... 6 years later, and now we are paper pregnant.. its amazing how the world works isnt it... :)

How sweet is that chubby little face.... that's Gabe.  He was THE most beautiful baby with white-blonde hair and dark blue eyes and super fair skin.  I dont know that Daniel and I could tell you how many times we heard "he cannot be a boy, he is too pretty" when he was a year or less.  And the sweetest child.

And personally, I think he has grown even better looking, although he doesnt look anything like a girl now.... he still has that blonde hair and blue eyes... and Im pretty sure he is going to be a bit of a heartbreaker when he gets older...

... but then thats just his mama talking... :)

Yeah... its finally time to show you our costumes and I couldnt be more excited... I think they turned out really good this year so I was super excited... especially since Ive been thinking about and working on them since June or so... :)

The other night, Emma told me, "I wish every day was halloween" and I told her, "me too"... she then said, "but we wouldnt have time to get our costumes ready".... yes, my girl knows me so well... :)

Personal Friday - Columbus MS Photographer

So here we are last Wednesday at the Greater Columbus Learning Center... Daniel had heard that they had some moon rocks/soil to view.  We are big into learning experiences at our house, and of course, being a science geek, if its science related, then Im all over it.  And honestly, how many times in your life will you ever get to view moon rocks/soil.  So we thought it was pretty cool.

The rocks/soil were encased in some lucite (I think) - that is what you see the kids holding... it was pretty cool... that was a good day.

But as far as today is going.... well, its still good... yesterday, on the other hand, was pretty bad.  We had a big dream shatter right in front of us, and it hurt.  Thankfully, the kids didnt really know about it so they didnt have to go through that, but Daniel and I got hurt (emotionally, not physically) pretty badly... so it was a rough afternoon.  But we are surviving....  

I know alot of people will probably say I shouldnt write heavy stuff like that on the blog, but this is still my personal blog and we are human.  We go through things, we need support just like everyone else.... and I think it would be lying to my clients and friends if we pretended like everything was fantastic all the time.  Its not... not for anyone... and I think the hurts and scars and bruises are what make us who we are.  They help to define our character and make us stronger.... and I think thats beautiful.

Since now its October, I can actually start talking halloween without looking like a crazy person (b/c if I could, I would talk about it all year and dress up all year, but then people tend to think you are a little crazy when you do things like that)...

Anyway, so yes, if you were wondering... I DO have the most awesome, wonderful, handsome husband in the whole world.... I mean I get to decide what we are going to be for halloween and then he just dresses up.... and he goes out in public like this.  Not even kidding - these pictures were taken at Lee Park while the whole family was dressed up like Peter Pan (after pumping gas like this!).... Daniel makes a nice Captain Hook.... he even grew out his goatie all month so he could cut it into this style for halloween.  

So yeah... Ive been planning our costumes this year since June, I think.... and let me tell you, they are AWESOME - and I dont mind saying that b/c alot of work went into them... and next Friday, we get to show them off.  I seriously could not be more excited.... yall have no idea.  Like I said, I would be happy to dress up every day if I could.... maybe one day.  Until then, you will just have to anticipate what each halloween is going to look like for us!

And if you are cleaning up and find some halloween decorations or costumes you dont want, then feel free to drop them in my lap... :)

Personal Friday - Columbus MS Photographer

This is from a few weeks back... in the fall, we like to take a weekend trip to the beach since we dont really do a big family vacation during the summer.... and by this time, its not outrageously hot or crowded which makes me a happy camper.  

This evening, we went to the beach and werent planning on getting in the water (hence the kids in their clothes)... we figured we would just play in the sand and let the kids stick their feet in the water.... I dont know why we always believe this will work because by the end of our beach time, everyone is soaking wet - the water is just too nice...

*and this pic is also a good reason to hire a professional... unlike what it looks like, the beach actually was pretty full... :)

Sneak Peek - Columbus Ms Photographer

I did Gabe's birthday pics a few weeks back but havent really gotten to post them yet, but soon!  This is probably my favorite of the whole lot... b/c it absolutely says "Gabe" to me.  We were just talking and he was trying to think - goodness, I love that boy.   Cant wait to show you some more of the shoot tomorrow!

Man, it is starting to get crazy around here... and it doesnt promise to let up until December.  I am so, so thankful to be so busy.  It makes me so happy... and busy it is.  By the time, December gets here, I will be layed out on the floor, super exhausted... but then after about a week, I will be ready to start it all over again.   Funny how that works.

 Ugh... not liking this new blogger interface... why blogger why?!!!

Anyway, its personal Friday and I thought Id show you a few pics from our vacation last year.... since Emma and Wallace's birthdays are only 2 days apart, we decided instead of doing 2 separate parties in rapid succession (b/c I dont think you should have to share a party), I decided it was easier on this mama for us to just take a trip, especially since we hadnt been anywhere all year and this was November... so we headed to the Smoky Mountains for a few days...  and it was wonderful! (flashback: look at all that hair on Emma!)

Today we are going way, way back about 15 or so years ago... back to high school days... and Im betting you can guess which one I am, right? And the saying is pretty much true - once a cheerleader, always a cheerleader. Its weird, right? Im kind of this punk/goth girl who mostly wears gray and black... but yet, I would give just about anything to cheer again - especially partner stunt... too bad, my old lady body is not so flexible anymore....

Thankfully though, I can be one of those obnoxious toddlers and tiara type moms who live their dreams through their daughter... b/c Emma... well, Emma is excited about the thought of taking cheerleading classes and is constantly bouncing around the house... and me - I could not be more excited to have someone to carry on the legacy (it exists in my head, cut me some slack)

I cannot wait to get started... :)

Personal Friday - Columbus MS Photographer

Let me give you a little clue.... we are weird at the Talley house... unapologetically weird and we love it. One of the big things that we do at our house is stick random things on our head and then take a picture. My kids do not really know this is not really socially acceptable behavior... and I kind of hope they never do... :) (does that make me a bad mom?)

So that is where today's picture comes from.... We just had gotten done eating dinner (hence the messy face) and I was looking for something in a drawer and found that bug, so I just put in Wallace's head and took a picture... and I think its cute, so there! (Wallace hadnt gotten his new glasses yet, if you were wondering where they were)

(we watched Pee Wee's Big Adventure earlier this week for the first time and their reactions were priceless!)

This was taken back at VBS a few months ago.... dont let Daniel ever tell you that he isnt wrapped tightly around that little girl's finger because that would be a big, fat lie... :) But really he is an amazing dad... I am very lucky... :)

Random thought: I miss the experience of going into a video store, walking around and renting a movie at least 30 minutes later... :) At least, Top Model comes on tonight, although they are changing the format so I dont know if it will still be good tonight... I guess we will see.

Sorry that I didnt get to post yesterday and am late today - this week has been BUSY! Today is a lovely picture of my husband - its actually his headshot and if you come to see The Rose Tattoo in September then you will see this shot in the brochure.... isnt he handsome? He actually tried out for one of the smaller roles and was given the lead male actor role - so yeah, he rocks!

Oh my goodness... how cute is that little blonde haired blue eyed boy? This was taken Christmas of 2006. Gabe was two and Emma was only about a month old, and this was our first Christmas in this house. He still plays with those trains he is sitting in front of....

And it aches my heart to know that he is turning 8 on Monday. I dont think I will be able to stand it... especially since he really is almost as tall as his mama now - and he pretty much is a mini-me which makes my heart ache a little more. I couldnt be more proud to be his mother though - such a smart one and so beautiful too. I love him so much, so much.

So remember when Emma got her hair cut? Eight inches in total... her first real haircut! Well, before that appointment, I begged her to get a pixie cut b/c I knew it would suit her tiny figure and adorable face, but that was really just too big of a jump for her and she got it cut into a cute bob. But even since then, I kept begging her to get it recut.... and she finally relented... and oh, I was so, so right! She is even more gorgeous - and it would be apt to say Im totally jealous b/c now she looks like a rockstar.... I cant wait to get her in front of my big camera (these were just done with the little one right after we got home).... This little girl just holds my heart.Even got a quick pic with the superstar... :)Hope you all have an amazing weekend.... :)

So I thought Id take a minute and introduce you to another member of the family that doesnt make it on the blog too often (if ever, Im not sure). This is Dash, our cat... he is about 9 years old and he has turned into a cranky old man.... he is the neediest cat Ive ever met and loves to meow incessently and needs attention constantly. Ha ha - everyone who comes in our house and sees him says "oh my goodness, that is a big cat" - I never think of him as as big cat (honestly, you should see my mom's cat, thats a big cat!), but he does resemble a big, fat marshmallow. Sometimes, he gets on my ever-living, last nerve, but I still love him and our living room would be super lonely without him... :)
