Help! - Columbus MS Photographer

So its still personal Friday and I wanted to give you one of my most favorite images... this was from Easter 2 years ago... I love the bright, green grass and the expressions on Gabe and Emma's faces are compltely "them" - I love it.

And I also wanted to ask - maybe even beg... for your help! As mentioned in an earlier post, I am really wanting to re-vamp, re-do, re-structure. I am finding more and more that my business is not what I want it to be and it doesnt reflect a true sense of who I am... basically, its just confusing.

And I dont want to be confusing.

So before I go changing everything or nothing, Id love to get your opinions - what is working, what is not, what is confusing - to you! I welcome all of your personal critiques - actually they would be invaluable to me. So please comment or email me at talleyimages@yahoo.com - I really, really want to take my business to the next level and I cant do that without you - you make all the difference!

I can only get better if you help me out.... please... :)

Link Love - Columbus MS Photographer

Didnt Jalaine and Zach make such a cute couple!

And we are back with some link love... all the things Im really digging right now and I wanted to share with you!

Loving this gorgeous colored wedding dress... what did I tell you? Colored dresses are in... and just for the record, white wedding dresses have nothing to do with purity so if thats the only reason you want white, think again!

Coolest guy rings ever!!!... and that dress!

Can someone please tell my lovely husband that I want one of these cards for Mothers Day... please.

Or this print... except the etsy link doesnt work anymore... need to find it though!

Need to make these lasagna roll-ups... yummm!

One of the cutest ring-bearers ever! I want to pinch his cheeks (super loving the colors and circus décor as well – ballerina cupcakes?!! Yes, please)

Super loving this paper bouquet!

A polka dot washer and dryer... and even better, a how to!

Homemade goldfish crackers!!!!

Got empty cereal boxes? Use them for something good!

Dying over every single one of these, especially the gorilla ones!

Love this shoot, and Id love to do something like this one day… anyone want to model?

Loving the feel of this graphic designer... :)

I like the stuff drawn on the walls, like they are part of the space without taking up any space – love the juxtaposition of it

How amazing is this Day After session… I think all brides and grooms should have one

Hair Tutorial – how to do a halo braid… makes me think of Katniss

Speaking of Katniss, I did go see The Hunger Games on a date with my lovely husband (of 10 years!), and I loved it - much more than I thought I would... it was a very good adaptation of the book, and all the casting that I had reservations about, well, no need to worry, the casting was spot on.... I wish I could go see it again already... and Im sad that I have to wait to watch the other movies now.

As for other things I did over the weekend, the main one was finishing up the Cinderella shoot that I had been working on.... and thankfully I had the most amazing model ever. We shot for 4 hours, and she was in heels most of that time! But it was awesome. Im definitely still culling and editing but I cant wait to show you what weve come up with.

Also.... two contests are still running on facebook and the odds of you winning are really, really good!

And here is a notice of things to come... I am thinking about re-vamping my business which will be bringing changes - changes to the website, photography prices and packages. I want to bring you the best I have to offer without selling myself short. I want to be the best, and in order to do that, changes will have to be made.... probably a little painful at first (as most changes are), but better for everyone in the long run.... thanks to everyone who has supported me - Im so excited to see where this new journey is going to end up!

Melissa and Trey - Columbus MS Photographer

I met Melissa and Trey not too long ago and we had so much fun talking about their wedding plans and the different ideas they had... I cannot wait to see the real thing - its going to be so pretty! They both go to State and are getting married at the Chapel, so of course, we had to start their engagment session there... thankfully, the flowers were still in bloom!
Is there anything better than spring grass?!!!How cute are they?
They met at the library, so we definitely had to fit that in.... love how pretty the color of the sky is reflected in the windows too. Goodness... how pretty is this ring?!!So, a few weeks ago, the weather couldnt decide if it wanted to be winter or spring, and now its having a hard time deciding between spring and summer. Im hoping we get a few more weeks of spring in - its so gorgeous right now... and although I love the heat, Im not quite ready for it just yet.

The warm weather is filling up my calendar fast, and for that Im thankful... I do still have a few April dates, but not many... Im really starting to book for May now, and Ive already had someone ask about June - and that makes me super happy... :)

Id love to get you on the books as well, but like I said, I am filling up fast, so you dont want to wait too long... email me at talleyimages@yahoo.com and we will get you set up!

Personal Friday - Columbus MS Photographer

Alright, I know the cardinal rule on a photography blog is to 1. Never, ever put pics on your blog that are straight out of the camera, and 2. Never, ever put pics on your blog that arent amazing.... but well, its Personal Friday and these are my pics - no one paid me to create them and they havent been edited in any way, plus they were taken on my little bitty point and snap camera that isnt that great.

Heck, if you know me at all, you know I dont always follow the rules... so here we are today... and for probably the first time on the blog (Im too lazy to go back and make sure though), Im posting pics that were taken super recently - like yesterday recent... As I said, the library was doing a Hunger Games party and I LOVE any excuse to dress up, so we headed out...

Gabe... my sweet, blonde headed boy, had to be Peeta (notice the sign behind him)Wallace took on the role of Seneca Crane... check out that fancy beard work (it actually did look pretty cool in real life!) - lesson learned: its really hard to put a fake beard on a child who doesnt really want to sit still... he looked pretty sharp in the suit thoughEmma was Prim... yall! yall! This girl looked almost exactly like you would imagine a 5 year old Prim to look... I wouldnt have even imagined it until she was in the dress with her hair braided... she definitely won everyone over... it doesnt hurt that Emma can be the sweetest child ever as well. And the family picture... I was Effie - check out my awesome puffed shoulder padded sleeves... yeah, totally rockin - and oh, if you could have only seen how much make up I was wearing (I had pink eyebrows!)... Daniel got away with being Cinna so he wouldnt have to look too crazy (he nixed the gold eyeliner but I did try)I actually do have some better pics that I took before we left the house, so sometime I will put those up too so you can get a better idea... :) Also, we went to Walmart after this, so we all looked pretty crazy - mostly me and Wallace and we got a few weird looks, but no one asked us anything, so apparently you can wear whatever you want to walmart and its acceptable.. :)

Did I mention Im excited about the Hunger Games... we have had our tickets since Tuesday... cant wait, cant wait, cant wait!!!

Ok, so do tell... who all is going tonight?

Tonight is the Hunger Games party at the library... so excited! Any excuse to dress up and I am so, so there - dragging my family along (oh, they love it too!)... maybe Ill take a pic for yall faithful who read the blog... :)

Happy Thursday!

Business Cards - Columbus MS Photographer

So here is what we came up with for Melissa's business card, and it looks so, so good in person on a crisp, business card... you should call Melissa if you have any hair needs she is so good!

Are yall loving this warm weather or what?

Anyone else super excited about the Hunger Games movie? I read the books over a year ago so the movie has been a long time coming. Did you know the library is having a teen party for it tomorrow - how fun is that? Im going to try to go - dressing up should be fun, but who should I be?

Love to your mother... and you and you and you... :)

Melissa - Columbus MS Photographer

Melissa just joined the staff at Blades (across from the Trotter) so she decided that she needed some new headshots and business cards... and I was all too happy to help out. I think you can see why - Melissa is super gorgeous and she really is one of the sweetest people Ive ever met. If you need a good hairdresser, you should give her a call.

Love how this green wall set off her eyes.Couldnt she be a model?!!One of my favorites... :)

Come back tomorrow and Ill show you the business card we came up with... I love it!

A few people have asked me about Saturdays, and as of right now, I do not have any open Saturdays until May and even those are starting to fill up... I do have a few Sunday afternoons open, but just a select few... so like I said, dont wait... this is one of the best times to do pictures with all the flowers and greenery at its peak... email me at talleyimages@yahoo.com - Id love to answer any questions you have!

Personal Friday - Columbus MS Photographer

So its Personal Friday once again... and instead of doing a person post, I thought Id post one of my older art prints... all the way back from 2007... a storm was rolling in and I thought it was so beautiful.

I still do find storms so beautiful.

Hope you are having a wonderful Friday and have a great weekend.

Dia De Los Muertos - Day After Shoot - Columbus MS wedding photographer

People are always asking me "whats a day after shoot? and does it have to be done the day after the wedding?" The answer is no, it doesnt have to be done the day after, just any day after... its a fun session that is the bride and groom in their wedding clothes with no restrictions - its just a time to play and have fun and not worry about time restraints or getting your clothes dirty b/c the wedding is already over... its a good way to get the wedding pictures you always wanted but maybe didnt have time for on your wedding day.

I have been wanting to do a Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) shoot for a long, long time, so when I pitched it to Menuka and Anil and they were on board, I was so excited... there is nothing like having the people you are working with just as excited about an idea... :) One of my most favorite shoots... Id love to do some more like thisThe light was so, so amazing!I sincerely loved this shoot and really hope I get to do more out of the box stuff like this in the future... :)

I cant believe I only have one entry for my senior picture giveaway on facebook? What is going on? Am I the only one who loves free stuff? Well, if no one else enters, I guess it will be pretty easy to pick a winner... but this may be the death of me doing giveaways... who knows.

Email me at talleyimages@yahoo.com - I still have a few spots in April left.
