So apparently Daniel is right... no one wants to support my purple couch fund. Sadness.... :(

And no, sorry I dont have a picture as Saturday was a non-work day so I didnt bring my camera... but if you know me and my imagination, then you probably have a good picture of how amazing this couch really is.

Not even kidding.

But one way or the other, I will figure this out.

In sort of related news... I am thinking about offering photography mentoring sessions. I will provide a model and figure out a location - based on the type of photography that you want to shoot. Just bring your camera (or borrow one of mine!) and then we will just take an hour and shoot and you can ask any questions you want and I will do my best to answer... learn about posing, lighting, white balance, wrangling kids, how to shoot in manual and whatever else you want to learn... all for $100... where else are you going to find a class where all the materials are provided, its tailored to what you want and need and focused solely on you... plus, you can keep and use all the images that we take for your own portfolio... definitely a steal!

Seven Deadly Sins: Lust - Columbus Ms Photographer

So weve come down to the final shot and its lust and its probably the most graphic of all of them (except maybe anger?)... this is undoubtedly one of everyone's favorites.... and a secret: it was probably done the quickest - in like 10 minutes or so - I knew the exact shot I wanted, so I set it up, we snapped it and walked out.... rarely does that happen, but when it does, its magic. A huge thanks to Kimberly and Tim who completely rocked this shoot out like no one's business. I owe them so much.

Im thinking next week Ill do a post with all the sins together just so you can see how they looked... they are still for sale as well!

So if youve noticed my profile pic and my facebook page, you may be noticing some changes... and thats b/c Im rebranding... which originally included a price change, but I think since its already so late in the year, Im going to wait on the price change and start that in 2013... so take advantage - email me and lets get you set up for some pictures! Seven Deadly Sins: Sloth - Columbus Ms Photographer

Its Tuesday and you know what that means.... another Sin pic... and next week's is the last one, can you believe it? This one was probably the hardest for me to conceptualize - how do you capture laziness in a single frame? So I let my mind wander and I thought about the 50s and that sort of overwhelming masculinity of the day. The man went to work while the woman stayed home and cleaned, cooked and took care of the kids... and when the man got home, he could rest and do whatever he wanted while the woman still had to get dinner on the table... boo on old antiquated ideas... but I like how this turned out - a big thanks to Kimberly and Tim for helping me out!

So much good stuff upcoming... I cant wait to show you!

Seven Deadly Sins: Gluttony - Columbus Ms Photographer

Gluttony... this was a fun one... and yes, if you were wondering, those cupcakes in the tub are all real, and not photoshopped.... although if you want to know a secret - they arent real cupcakes that you could eat, but they are real and you dont want to know how much time it took to make them all (probably over 100 of them, although I didnt count, but enough to fill a bathtub).... Rachael did an amazing job on the cupcakes that are sitting on the edge of the tub - the purple ones are really bath bomb fizzies and the blue ones were real and they were amazingly delicious - yummmm!!! Seven Deadly Sin: Pride - Columbus Ms Photographer

Next on the sin list is Pride. I might as well say it - I loved this shoot. Kimberly did an amazing job with it and I am forever indebted to her for everything she has done! Plus, she looks pretty darn amazing in that dress, right? This was really a fun shoot though as I got to hang out with some great girls, eat cupcakes and take pictures - with masks! Hope yall are enjoying the sin pictures.... :)

Can you believe school starts Monday? Well, if you are a teacher, it started today - so good luck to all the teachers out there. Where did this summer go? Im having a hard time believing that my oldest is almost 8 and will be in the 3rd grade... especially when I am really in denial about my age and like to pretend Im about 20-something (shhhhh, dont tell). :)

Seven Deadly Sins: Greed - Columbus Ms Photographer

So Greed was the next shoot that we did in the series... and turns out this is one of the biggest favorites for everyone. Carl did an amazing job and we had so much fun - even if I dragged him around town and cemetery in the rain... :) Everyone wants to know how I got a huge safe out to photograph, so here is my secret: I didnt. I just noticed an interesting building one day and stopped to walk around and look at it, and lo and behold, there was this huge safe laying outside - just days before the greed shoot, and then I thanked God for blessing us with it.

This one looks amazing on canvas - the colors are so rich and just pop... and still available for only $100.

We went and saw Batman last night... we dont get out to movies too often, but this is the one that we had been waiting all summer for.... and it was good! Even Anne Hathaway, whom I didnt have much faith in before the movie - ha... :)

Seven Deadly Sins: Envy - Columbus Ms Photographer

Alright, here we go - the second in the series... and I love it. I so love these girls - this shoot was probably one of the most fun b/c these girls are hilarious - and it was like 100 degrees outside so it was super hot, but they kept going. I think they had quite a good time getting to beat up on each other... :)

In other news, is there anyone out there who is looking for a super easy job - would be perfect for a homeschooled senior or a person in college. The hours are from 6:45 - 7:40 AM and 2:00 - 3:30 in the afternoon. We pretty much just need someone to get the kids to school and get them after school. Ok, here you go... for all the people who werent able to attend the show, this is for you. :)

Im going to put these on the blog in the order that they were shot, so I can keep up with them... the first one I shot was anger and its probably one of my favorites. And Ive had to keep it a secret for forever, but I love it. (and yes, thats Daniel on the floor). I definitely wanted this shoot to be gritty and raw and I think we accomplished that.

Tomorrow is the day!!!! Im so excited! Tomorrow is the art show for the Seven Deadly Sins - Ive been working on these since April!!! Thats 3 months of working on one project and tomorrow it will all be revealed. I couldnt love these prints any more than I already do.... this has been one of my most favorite projects - b/c I did them my way, without having to take any advice or instructions from anyone else, so they could be as weird or crazy as I wanted. And I love them.

And get this... each one is printed on a gorgeous 16x24 canvas. They look amazing.

The show is tomorrow from 5:30 - 7:30 at the Renee Reedy studio in downtown Columbus - its across from the Rosenweig and under Cafe on Main. Its come and go and free food and drinks are provided so definitely a win-win.

Please come and stop by and say hey to me... you have no idea how much it would mean on this particular show.... :)

Also, each canvas will be available for purchase for only $150 (canvases this size are normally around $300), or you can buy the whole set for $700.... or next week, I will be offering them for only $100 each or buy the whole set for $500. The Final Countdown - Day 12 - Columbus MS Photographer

Personal Friday - Columbus MS Photographer

I used this image on a card for my mom, grandmother and aunt for the first Mothers Day that Emma was here... May 2007... thats her and Gabe's hands... so tiny.

Just wanted to wish a Happy Mothers Day to all the women out there... even the ones who are hurting for your own reasons. Big hugs, Sunday can be a hard day... know that someone is thinking of you.

In other news... I finally got all 7 of the sin shoots shot. Now I have to work on editing - ALOT of editing, but Im happy to do it, to see my vision come to life.

A huge thank you to everyone involved, especially Robin, Carl, Tricia, Rachael, Amber, Kimberly and Tim... I owe you more than you realize and one day I hope to repay the debt. Thank you for helping me to realize my dreams. And thank you to everyone who has believed in me along the way.
