Cinderella, part two - first night - Columbus Ms Photographer

So if youve been on facebook lately, then youve probably seen a few of these, but I wanted to do a more detailed post. If you go back to the part one of the Cinderella shoot, I posted a link to the original Grimm version of the fairytale, and in that version, the ball goes on for 3 nights. Each night, Cinderella is given a different dress that keep getting more and more beautiful, so that is what I really wanted to do. So there are 3 different parts to the actual part 2 shoot... and all done on the same day!

So here we go... this first set was done at the Jackie O'House.

Model: Maritta Rondeau

Hair Stylist: Brii Alicea from the "Hair Studio" in Starkville, MS

Make-up: Maritta Rondeau

Fashion Stylist: Maritta Rondeau

Vendor: Oooh La La Boutique in Starkville, MS

Location: Jackie O' House

A huge thank you to everyone involved. Maritta was there for 4 hours in heels and not a word of complaint. She is an amazing model and I loved every second with her. If you are interested in working with her, contact her on facebook. She also did an amazing job with all the jewelry and makeup as well. Thank you to the Ooooh La La Boutique in Starkville for letting us borrow all the jewelry and accessories as well - they turned out amazing! And to Brii for doing an amazing job on the hair - thank you!

Also, thank you to the Jackie O'House for letting us shoot there. Maritta and I both fell in love with the house while we were there. What I love about this house is that there is always someone around to help you, but they stay out of your way and dont bother you so if you go and stay, its like its your own personal antebellum home, but if you need anything, there is always someone to help... love that!

I am always looking for new vendors to work with... if you are interested, email me at talleyimages@yahoo.com

So now that youve seen this one, betcha cant wait to come back for the other two... :)

Personal Friday - Columbus MS Photographer

Yay, its Friday and we all know what that means, right?!!! Thats right, its Personal Friday, which means you get a sneak peek into my life... :)

This is a fairly recent pic from my last birthday.... as Ive mentioned before, I love to dress up in some sort of costume or whatever, so my birthday present this year was having the whole family dress up as punk as possible and just spend the day together... I think we actually look pretty sharp. (and I got my jacket in Hong Kong when we went to get Wallace so its super special and Im glad I get to wear it) (as an aside, please ignore the mess on the right side, and yes, on the left side that is alot of movies - 90% of them are kids movies as we spend alot of time at home and the kids arent allowed to watch 90% of whats on tv, and did you notice the bottom shelf - about 1/3 of our record collection, we are so cool (ha!) - that unit is the one thing most people comment on when they come into our house - funny) Well, I hope you all have a great weekend!!!

Katie Rose - Columbus MS Photographer

Katie Rose and my son Gabe started off in the same bed baby room, and continued being in the same class until kindergarten, so Ive gotten the wonder of watching Katie Rose grow up into a beautiful young lady. So while I was doing a model shoot at the house her mom, Jennifer owns (check out The Painted Lady here), she asked me to do a few shots of Katie Rose... and I didnt mind one bit.

Besides being the best hostess of a bed & breakfast, Jennifer also works at an antique store, so I knew she had a natural affinity for vintage and beautiful, so I definitely wanted Katie Rose's pictures to reflect a more vintage Victorian feel without being too kitschy with the faked sepia look... and I think we definitely achieved what we set out for.... Katie Rose is just beautiful.
Thank you Jennifer for providing more than I ever needed... I hope you enjoy the pictures for a long time.... :)

Email me at talleyimages@yahoo.com and lets get your session scheduled.

WEDDING ATTIRE

Hands down – THE coolest groomsmen picture EVER!!!! (cmon you know you want to check it out)

One of my alltime favorite wedding dresses

One of my alltime favorite weddings… including the dress

If you don’t know who Ian Stuart is, then you definitely want to check out his wedding dresses… oh my goodness… talk about absolutely delight!

The wedding chicks have definitely been on the ball lately… J But I died when I saw the first pic in this post – that braid with the flowers?!!! Ive been brainstorming ever since on how to use it in a shoot… the rest of the post is pretty cute too

Super-super-cute rings… I want the bunny ear one

Super modern wedding dresses…. Love!

colored wedding dress + teal writing desk + open field + vintage inspiration = love!

Love how they show a variety of matching ties – plus a 20% discount

Winged wedding shoes = coolest wedding shoes ever!

the netting hair piece is killing me… LOVE this shoot and would love to do a variation of it one day… any takers?

FOOD

Orange creamsicle cupcakes?!!!! Yes please!

As if creamsicle cupcakes weren’t enough… how about some chocolate cake – that’s made without milk or eggs? Yeah, that’s what Im talking about

The cake, the cake, the cake!!!! You must go sneak a peek!

And how pretty is this one?!!!

Chocolate lasagna… do I need any more words or have you already clicked over?!!!

A mini-pie maker?!!! Cutest thing ever!

cast iron skillets shaped like all the states… totally cool, but be warned they are on the expensive side

homemade pizza pockets… yummm!

lasagna cupcakes… seems like the perfect dinner for me and my kids!

13 cheeses everyone should know… you know for when you want to look smarter… :)

WEDDING STYLE

Cutest wedding Ive seen in a long, long time

Loving the shoes, the pinwheels and the flower arch!!! (and its touted as totally budget friendly)

I normally don’t do neutral colors, but this bouquet is really, really pretty and would still look good in pictures 20 years from now without looking trendy

This wedding ceremony set is one of the coolest things Ive ever seen (scroll down to about the middle of the post and you’ll see what I mean) – I keep wondering how I can make it and use it in every day life (Im weird)

I love science-infused weddings (being a chemistry major myself, surprise, surprise)… and you don’t get much cuter than a pi/pie day wedding

Black wedding flowers?!!! Be still my heart.

everything about this is seriously too cute for words (bordering on making me want to vomit), but what I really love is that window frame for a seating chart

DIY

DIY huge paper flowers… brainstorming how to use these in a shoot

Or maybe some that are a little more manageable… I love the idea of a paper bouquet b/c it never dies

DIY origami animals… if you have lots of time on your hands, then this would make for a really cute, cheap way to decorate for parties and receptions

Download an easy fill in the blank schedule for the wedding day, fill it in and hand it out to all of your wedding party and family so no one has an excuse to be late and everyone knows where to be without bothering you all day

How to make your own lightbulb chandelier?!!!! Oh my goodness – yes!

Fun thing to do the next time your kid says they are bored… lots of good memories to be made (it does require a little bit of planning ahead though)

ART/FAMILY/KIDS

I want this balloon lamp so, so bad (but the lady rocking horse kind of freaks me out)

very cool ombre desk

One of the coolest kids birthday parties Ive seen in a long, long time… bonus: it’s a classic theme that will never go out of style (those fruit and veggie trays are even irresistible!)

I have to read this often

Got empty cereal boxes? You know you do… how about using them to better the world – this is a great project to get your kids involved in as well

This killed me... Im in a puddle on the floor... only read with some tissues.

So yeah, like I said... a lot of awesomeness today... and seriously, you should click through every single link, I bet you will be surprised at what you find... :) Id love to chat about the stuff you are loving right now... email me at talleyimages@yahoo.com

Good Friday

A little departure from my normal pictures... I did these a couple years ago and I still love them. Some of my favorite pictures and I cant even imagine anything I would change about them - they symbolize Easter how I see it - completely graphic and extreme in so many ways...

Ash Wednesday... where it all starts...

Maunday Thursday... or the day that Christ took communion (or the Last Supper) with his disciples.

Where He was betrayed.... And then He was crucified.... for me... for you... for all of us

One thing I love about the Methodist church is the tradition of the colors... if you'll notice, a lot of Methodist churches have wooden crosses outside... when Ash Wednesday comes, a purple cloth is placed on the cross... until Good Friday, and a black one replaces it.

- I love how on the processing of this picture, some of the marks in the wood came out to be red

Blood flowed....
And then there was silence.... it was over.
Jesus was dead.

Alot of people probably wont get these bright, vivid pictures.... but if youve ever lost anyone close than you no how unfair it feels for life to go on - for everyone around you to be ok, to be happy even - when you are grieving, when your world has been shattered....

The black cloth stays on... while we wait.
Until it is replaced by the white.... and the cross no longer holds the sting it did the night before.

And this is what we teach our children... just wish it wasnt always so sugarcoated.
