Melissa & Trey - the wedding: the details - columbus MS Photographer

Today I get to show you one of my most favorite part of the wedding... ok, who am I kidding, I love it all, so let me rephrase, I get to show you one of my most favorite parts of the wedding to photograph.... each wedding is unique and it really all comes down to the details.  Melissa and Trey both go to Mississippi State, so they got married at the Chapel of Memories (which is gorgeous by the way), so there were lots of little maroon and white accents.... and Melissa is also a poultry science major (seriously, how cool is that) so mixed in with all the State stuff was eggs and chicken feathers... so fun and just perfect for these two!

Ok, gotta start off with the dress... it fit Melissa like a dream.

 And her shoes were killer!!!

 And you outta know by now that I have to do a couple different ringshots!

 Right outside the chapel is a huge angel statue, so I used his hand to hold the rings - I love how it turned out!

 Drink coozies were perfect for the reception!

 Trey is from New Orleans so he had to have king cake for the grooms cake... yummm!

 Look! The bride and groom got their own eggs... :)

Tomorrow will be the big day where I show you some of Melissa and Trey's pics... Im not even going to begin to describe how beautiful these turned out - and mostly b/c Trey and Melissa are gorgeous on the outside and inside... it was a pleasure to hang out with them.

My goth dinner from last night.... my lovely new black plate, with garlic cheese toast, green peas and pasta with ground chicken and sauce - and yes, if you look closely, there is black pasta mixed in with the white - makes me smile!

this is about how to choose a newborn photographer, but I think most of it relates perfectly to picking a wedding photographer as well…. “Your baby will only be little for so long and there are no do-overs if the photographer you hire screws up. Once you you get your photos back, your newborn won’t be a newborn any more and it will be too late.”

So yep, its still a hugely, insanely crazy week... but we are making it! I am at Coopers Closet all this week in Columbus - its in the shopping center behind the Grill - and there is a ton of space (which means a ton of stuff!) this time, so its easy to browse and find what you are looking for - I love it! It was super crowded yesterday at the pre-sale which can only mean that the bargains are plenty this time so I wouldnt wait too long to get in here - tomorrow is 25% off day and Saturday is 50% off day, but its opening day for the public today (10-6) and like I said it was super crowded yesterday, so you dont want to miss all the good stuff! Ive just seen a few wedding trends and ideas lately that I am loving, so I thought I would pass them on to you!

My favorite trend this season - and I really, really hope it catches on is colored wedding dresses...
if you follow www.rocknrollbride.com and www.offbeatbride.com then you know that colored wedding dresses are gaining in popularity, but they hadnt really hit mainstream until this year, when both Elie Saab (via the Wedding Chicks) and Vera Wang introduced color into their collections... I hope it sticks!
