Melissa & Trey - the wedding: the details - columbus MS Photographer

Today I get to show you one of my most favorite part of the wedding... ok, who am I kidding, I love it all, so let me rephrase, I get to show you one of my most favorite parts of the wedding to photograph.... each wedding is unique and it really all comes down to the details.  Melissa and Trey both go to Mississippi State, so they got married at the Chapel of Memories (which is gorgeous by the way), so there were lots of little maroon and white accents.... and Melissa is also a poultry science major (seriously, how cool is that) so mixed in with all the State stuff was eggs and chicken feathers... so fun and just perfect for these two!

Ok, gotta start off with the dress... it fit Melissa like a dream.
 And her shoes were killer!!!
And you outta know by now that I have to do a couple different ringshots!

Right outside the chapel is a huge angel statue, so I used his hand to hold the rings - I love how it turned out!

 Wooden egg favors!
Drink coozies were perfect for the reception!

Trey is from New Orleans so he had to have king cake for the grooms cake... yummm!

Look! The bride and groom got their own eggs... :)

Tomorrow will be the big day where I show you some of Melissa and Trey's pics... Im not even going to begin to describe how beautiful these turned out - and mostly b/c Trey and Melissa are gorgeous on the outside and inside... it was a pleasure to hang out with them.

Jessica & Russ:the wedding - the details - Columbus MS Photographer

Ok, I know the only thing that parallels pictures of the happy couple are the details - I love the details of a weddings - they are the biggest contributor to a wedding setting itself totally apart from all others.... and I have a sneaking suspicion that Im not alone in my love for all things details (hello pinterest!)... plus, its always good for future brides to get a few ideas....

And we always, always start off with the dress.... and Jessica's was completely beautiful, and it fit her like a glove (as you saw in yesterday's post)These were the flower girls petals... they were from the roses that Russ gave Jessica on the night that he proposed... swoon! And can you believe Jessica made all the corsages and boutinierres?!!! She did such an amazing job! I love crafty brides.Of course, her flowers were gorgeous as well.Time for the ring shots... my favorite part to photograph. Since it was so close to Christmas, I thought the angel and holly would be so fun for the ring shotsOk, Im going to give you a minute to catch your breath and get yourself all ready because this reception is going to blow you away... are you ready? ok, here we go....

Gotta show off the cakes first... yumm! Yes! That is a 25 foot tree in the middle of the reception.... wow! Yes! Those are light up trees lining the walls of the reception.... Yes! Those table decorations are to die for... :) And just how cute is this wishing table?!!!Did I mention that I LOVE my "job"? Yes, yes, I do!

Shelley & Keith - the wedding: the details - Columbus Ms Photographer

Ok, now that youve seen how gorgeous the couple is, lets get on to some of the other good stuff - the details! I love photographing details b/c you can get so many different angles and use them to tell a story.... check out Shelley's dress - oh my goodness, it was beautiful - I love a good, frilly dress and this was it!

I think you all know how much I LOVE doing ring shots.

Just for fun... :)

These candleholders were used during the ceremony - the bride's brother made them for her, how sweet is that?
The reception was just gorgeous... :)
Done by the grandfather - another sweet touch!
I love this idea and how it could be used for so many things.
